Editing & Fact-Checking 

I offer freelance copy editing and fact-checking. 

• Editing: I spent three and a half years as a digital editor at KUT, Austin’s NPR station. I was often the only person to review stories — everything from breaking news to 3,000-word features — before they were published. I helped writers craft pieces from pitch to publication. I have an eagle eye for detail, a passion for compelling narrative structure, and a knack for sentence-level writing that sings.

• Fact-checking: As an editor at KUT, I fact-checked news stories and features. I also spent a year on PolitiFact’s TikTok moderation team, where I reviewed political videos flagged for misinformation. I conducted research to determine if they were factually accurate, misleading, or unsubstantiated.
